Here is where we honor those who have passed over the Rainbow Bridge...
The Rainbow Bridge is a passage to the other side. When any being dies, it passes peacefully over the Rainbow Bridge to the green fields of the Summerland. In this peaceful place, they wait for those to cross who they have known and loved in this life. It is said that all of the animals and friends we knew who have passed over will be there to greet us and dry our tears, and show us just what peace is.

COLUMBUS
Goodbye, sweet Columbus. Columbus passed over the Bridge on Hallow's Eve, 2005, of old age. He was 21 1/2 years old. He was my friend who saw me through the temporary loss of my daughter, my marriage and separation and reunion with my husband, the return of my daughter, the loss to the state of my two grandkids, and all my tears and joys of the last 21 years. I will miss him so much. He was the last of his bloodline. |

ALMEERA
Almeera was the sweetest cat I have ever known. She passed over the bridge on 27 December 2005 of a fast moving breast cancer. She developed this cancer just a few days after her companion of 18 years, Columbus, passed away, and despite her illness, looked for him daily until she passed. She was active, and her old self most of the last 2 months of her life. We cuddled her daily when we had the chance, and she was in my arms when she passed over the Rainbow Bridge to join her friend, Columbus. She is survived by her only kits, Durante, Magellan, Lilac, and Blaze. Goodbye, Dear Heart!

SILKY
Silky, our sweet, furry loveable rescue, passed away several months ago from distemper, despite having received her vaccinations. Dr. Alice, our favorite feline vet, said she did not know why the vaccinations didn't take. She died in my arms, despite all efforts. She was such a sweetie, and was only 7 months old. This death has affected me so much, I have not until now been able to post this obit. Goodbye, Silky. I still want you back. |

BISCUIT
Biscuit, one-time "Cat of the Month", daughter of Picaboo, who passed over the bridge a little while ago, passed away 5-28, 2010. She passed away from dibetic complications. While I was preparing her insulin, she went into convulsions and died suddenly. She had diabetes, and thyroid problems, and had a bout with the cat version of "Toxic Shock Syndrome" which nearly killed her five years ago. She was 7. She is survived by her sister Athena and her brother Rascal. Rest in the fields of the Summerland with your mom, Picaboo, honey. We miss you already.

DURANTE-LAST OF ALMEERA'S LINE
Durante, the last of our beloved Almeera's kits, has finally joined his mother Almeera, his sisters Blaze and Lilac, and his brother Magellan in the Rainbow Fields. He passed quietly in his sleep on May 27, 2009. He was almost 18 years old. He was the last of Almeera's line. We named him for the look of his nose when he was a kitten, he looked like Jimmy Durante the entertainer. He was a vocal kitty, always filling the air with his meows and complaints. We were not with him when he left, but he had been in ill health for some time-just many many years of giving us his presence and pleasure. He will live on in cyberspace, since his image is on many of my sites where I post. We will miss him until we are all reunited in the Forever Rainbow fields. Goodbye, sweet Durate. Rest well! |

THUNDERPAWS
Thunderpaws, my beloved furry tuxedo, was hit by my Dad on Monday, and died that night. He was eight years old, rescued from my workplace as a little fuzzy kitten along with his mom, Fuzzy, who passed away seven years ago. He was named for the fact that when he thundered down the hall, you could feel the trailer shake! He spent several years in the outside shelter, but he wanted nothing more than to come back in the house, so two years ago we let him. However, he went back to his "I gotta pee on the stove" routine, so we let him outside last year. He has done well, but this past Monday, he was asleep under the car, and my Dad didn't see him till he hit him. His favorite habit was to get in front of you and stand up on his back paws, curl his front paws around your neck, and give you a real hug. I am crying so hard, because I want nothing better than to feel those paws around my neck right now. Rest peacefully in the fields of the Summerlands, and get ready to give me a big hug when I get there. Goodbye for now, and I will always love you, TP Thunderpaws.

PICABOO
PICABOO, our Toughcat, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2009, of pneumonia related to her FelV. She passed away outside, in my arms in the sunshine. She survived much in her life, from the loss of her feral home at my worksite, to a badly broken leg at 1 year old, and many colds due to her FelV status. She is survived by her only kittens, Rascal, Biscuit, and Athena. We miss you, toughcat Picaboo. Wait in the fields of the Summerlands, sweetie. We love you. |
